[...] I was chatting with Amna S. Al Haddad (UAE resident Crossfitter and weightlifter) recently, and we talked about Vitamin D deficiencies. This reminded me of when I found out some years ago that the result of my blood test showed I was very deficient in Vitamin D. I hardly get any sunlight exposure… it is an issue for women who cover most of thier skin with clothing, such as myself, but also an issue for people who are or work indoors most of the time (also me). Here is a great article (that also addresses athletes): [...]

Is that in ng/mL? nmol/L?

If so, yeah, getting it to at least 50 ng/mL would probably be good.

I think nmol/L is 2.5x less than ng/mL so you'd want to aim for 125 nmol/L. But I don't remember if that's correct or not, so do the calculations for that before you supplement that much.

Hi Steve,

I had my blood checked last month and came with a 29.9 Vitamin D level. My doc recommended supplementation. I was hesitant, but after reading your article, I will try some and see what happens.
